SIP FROM THE LIVING PORTALS... Gleanings from 2 Thessalonians 1:1-12 (Part 5)
Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth (2 Thessalonians 1: 1-3).
This morning. I see the Lord extending His hand of fellowship to you. Are you weak and tired? Are you fed up, and do you desire a divine intervention? Do you desire a rest from your toils?
Matthew 11:28-30 says Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Dear child of God, why not cast your burdens on Jesus this morning? He is calling you to come to Him. Come to Him and build an intimate communion-based relationship with Him. This is the relationship that brings true inner peace, rest, and a calm heart, even amidst life's difficulties and turmoil.
Jesus is the “Prince of Peace”, and as we spend time with Him in His Word, through prayer or by simply sitting quietly in His presence, He gives us His peace and rest.
When we feel anxious, it’s easy to panic and allow fear to take over. That’s when we need to slow down, get still and focus on Jesus. One of the greatest things about God is that He’s always just a prayer, a call away, available any time of the day for us to cry out to Him for His peace, strength and help.
Come to Jesus today and have rest!
Will you heed this call this morning?
